Our step-by-step process

1

Inspect & assess steel: Every job starts with a thorough inspection of the steel. We assess surface conditions, identify any contaminants, and confirm your specified coating requirements before any work begins.

2

Abrasive blast steel: Steel is abrasive blasted to your specified surface profile, removing mill scale, rust, and existing coatings. This creates the clean, roughened surface essential for coating adhesion and long-term performance.

3

Apply specified coating system: Your steel’s specified paint or coating system is applied to the prepared surface. Whether it’s a single coat or multi-coat system, the application is carried out to meet your project specifications and relevant Australian standards.

4

Cure & inspect finish: Coatings are cured under controlled conditions before a thorough inspection is completed. Dry film thickness, adhesion, and finish quality are all checked to ensure the work strictly meets specification before leaving our facility on its way to you.

5

Deliver: Once inspection is passed, your product is carefully handled and prepared for pickup or delivery directly to your site. We work to your project timelines and make sure your steel arrives on site ready to install, without delays to your schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions - Industrial Painting

Industrial painting involves applying protective coating systems to steel to prevent corrosion, improve durability and enhance appearance.

We offer a wide range of systems including epoxies, polyurethanes, zinc-rich primers, and specialised coatings for marine, immersion and high-corrosion environments.

A Duplex system combines galvanizing with a paint coating, delivering superior corrosion protection and extending the lifespan of steel.

Coating lifespan depends on the environment and system used, but can range from 10–25+ years, with Duplex systems lasting even longer.

Steel is cleaned and abrasive blasted to achieve the correct surface profile, ensuring strong adhesion and long-term performance.

Yes, our processes are PCCP certified, and we follow strict quality controls to meet Australian and international standards.

Yes, our facilities are purpose-built to handle large-scale structural steel, complex components and detailed fabrications.

Yes, we have an onsite NACE-certified inspector to expertly oversee coating application and ensure compliance on critical projects.

Timeframes vary depending on coating system and project size, but our controlled environment and fast-curing systems help minimise delays and maximise quick turnarounds.

We work across infrastructure, construction, industrial, marine and energy sectors.
