Jindera Private Chair Lift

Service Area: Galvanizing  | Industry Type:

Project Overview

This unique project was filled with complex components, an unforeseen pandemic, and an end result delivered by J. Furphy & Sons Group that our client was thrilled with. It involved the hot dip galvanizing of tower columns, ladders, and headframes for a privately built chairlift in Jindera. The key requirement was to provide a long-lasting, maintenance-free coating capable of withstanding outdoor environmental conditions. What now stands is a durable, corrosion-resistant finish that will protect the structure for the full service life of the chairlift.

The Challenge

The project called for the very careful handling and processing of large, complex structural components. As a one-off, privately engineered chairlift, there were unique design considerations without standardised specifications, and we needed to customise the structure to perform and withstand. Achieving full internal and external coating coverage on fabricated steel sections was critical for long-term durability. Due to COVID-19 disruptions the project timelines were unexpectedly extended, requiring flexibility in scheduling and coordination from both parties.

Our Solution

We provided full hot dip galvanizing services for all tower columns and headframe components, ensuring complete corrosion protection. A controlled galvanizing process was used to achieve consistent coating thickness across all fabricated steel sections, including internal surfaces. We kept in constant communication with the client throughout the COVID-19 pandemic delays, and ensured components were delivered and processed in line with the staged construction timeline with potential delays worked around.
